Orange Lake Resorts, home to the Holiday Inn Club Vacations® brand, is happy to announce the acquisition of the historic 1862 David Walleys Hot Springs Resort and Spa in Genoa, Nevada from 1862, LLC and other affiliates of Summer Winds Resorts. The resort features 108 villas, four cottages, 1862 David Walleys Hot Springs & Day Spa and two onsite restaurants, as well as land approved for 214 additional timeshare units. Current villas range from 6001,300 square feet and are available in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations. In the future, the property will be branded as Holiday Inn Club Vacations David Walleys Resort and join the companys 26 resorts located across the U.S.
Located just 20 miles east of picturesque Lake Tahoe and minutes from Californias world-class ski slopes and outdoor recreation amenities, the resort was originally built by David and Harriet Walley in 1862. Tahoe East Shore Trail, North Lake Tahoe, NevadaThe Tahoe East Shore Trail is relatively new but well on its way to becoming one of the most loved trails in Tahoe!Its a 3-mile-long, 10-foot-wide paved path thats accessible for foot traffic, bikes, strollers and wheelchairs.You can walk the entire length of the trail and back to your car or take the East Shore Express shuttle one way.Hikers along the Tahoe East Shore Trail are treated to spectacular lake views, 16 vista points, rest stops and numerous beach access points.Pro Tip: Bring a towel and go for a swim! I recommend Hidden Beach or Emerald Cove.

I had requested a crib in the room when I made the reservation. 2 days prior to the trip, I called the hotel to confirm a crib in our room. I was told to call back the day of our arrival. I called the hotel at 10am on the day of arrival and was told a crib would be in our room before we checked in. We got to check in at 4pm and, I again, asked about the crib and was told it would already be in our room or it would be delivered soon. We got to the room, and no crib. I called and asked and was told it would be right up. The crib finally arrived at 7:05pm. This was very frustrating because my little one was exhausted from the day of travels and we really needed the crib in our room upon arrival, as requested – several times. Besides that issue, the hotel is nice. Unfortunately it does not have air conditioning which made for a very hot room at night, but we managed with the in-room fans. Be aware that this is a time share style resort that rents out rooms when the property is not full. After check in, you must go to the sales desks and sit through a little talk about the time shares before you get your parking pass. The hotel has a very nice pool which I recommend checking out. It also has an indoor court. The property is laid out very well and is in a lovely location. I highly recommend taking the 2 minute drive to the Fox and Hound bar and restaurant near the hotel. They have delicious bbq!

Best Time To Visit Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is a year-round destination. The summer months are warm and perfect for water adventures and hiking.Enjoying some downtime at the heated pool at Tahoe Ridge ResortIf youre looking for the ideal winter spot, its also incredible for skiing and other snow-based activities.And the shoulder seasons are a nice combination of everything with generally fewer crowds.In my opinion, the best time to visit Lake Tahoe is for a fall getaway in September and October. You can still hit up all the hiking trails, but the temperatures have cooled down a little and there are fewer crowds.Keep in mind that from around November through April/May, some trails will be closed due to snow coverage. Alternatively, you could consider snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
