How do I start planning my first vacation?In the coming weeks, you will receive an email inviting you to participate in Insider Foundations, a program designed to help new Owners like you reserve the first of many well-deserved vacations. Insider Foundations includes helpful videos, How-to-Use Guides, and on-demand webinars. You can even schedule an appointment with your Owner Services team for additional help. Insider Foundations also has information on how to log in to your Owner website, plus how to download the Marriott Vacation Club® app, where you can sign up for push notifications and see your digital Owner card.

Can I share my Club Points with another Owner?Yes, you can transfer Club Points to friends or family members who are also Owners anytime during your Use Year. Keep in mind that any Club Points you transfer must be used by the end of your Use Year.

When will my contract closing take place?Around 30 days after full payment is made or full deposit is paid in case of finance.

When will I receive my purchase incentive?Approximately 30 days after your closing. Once that happens, your Vacation Ownership Advisor can help you book reservations and make the most of your incentive.

I Am An Owner Of A Timeshare Unit At

I am an owner of a timeshare unit at Harborside Atlantis, Bahamas and my ability to enjoy a room with my family was made impossible by rule *changes* that terminated the availability of fold up beds for children. Since that time in March 2018, I have been continuously trying to relinquish my ownership and stop the association dues. I would do better to stay at the nearby hotel or elsewhere. So would you.

The Customer Service At Marriott

The customer service at Marriott Vacation Club was the worst. They can’t help you anything, not flexible at all. They dicretionarily impose late fees and interest for late payment for maintance and club dues. It’s ridicious. A lawsuit for unreasonable late fees and interest should be commenced against Marriott vacation club.

Types Of Professional Assistance Available

If you don’t want to do it yourself and want full representation, then you should list your ownership for sale with a licensed real estate broker/agent who specializes in the sale of timeshare and vacation ownerships. This type of specialized licensed broker will research comparable sold prices, the number of identical listings on the market and their prices, and what buyers have been offering for identical ownerships and other market factors to give you valuable information about what the resale market is for your timeshare ownership. They will work with you to get it listed and set up through broker-only MLS services and other professional marketing avenues that will give you a good chance to get it sold.

Commissions and selling fees vary by Broker, and this amount will be discussed with you when you decide on the listing price for your ownership, and will be included in your listing agreement. You will not, and should not, pay any broker or agent a selling fee or commission, until they have sold your timeshare.

Stay Away From This Company

Definitely one of the costliest mistakes we ever made, was buying timeshare through Marriot. We have been kicking ourselves for the past 20 years. Enormous fees and ridiculous increases annually. To top it off, you can only exit if you pay the maintenance fee for the next calendar year and accept exit without any compensation. Stay very far away from Marriot.

    Absolutely The Worst Investment

    Absolutely the worst investment of my life. You pay so much in initial investment and annual dues and finally you get nothing back. Almost impossible to reserve and finally you always need to make an international call to be put in a queue which never ends. You hear an endless loop recording about how important your business is, but you never get a result. You can leave a number to be called back, but they never call back. My advice – don’t buy.

If you are looking to buy vacation real estate, this is an easier pathway since you dont have to worry about the logistics of upkeep and maintenance . Plus, you aren’t locked into one specific unit or property, though many people do return to the same place year after year.

    For those seeking variety, you have a network of hotels, villas and experiences around the world where you can use your Vacation Club points.

    If you like to experience different places around the world and dont mind staying connected to one network of properties, then the Marriott Vacation Club is probably worth it. But if you prefer to decide on new places or different types of vacation experiences at the last minute, then maybe its not the best program for you.

    It Is Amazing To Think That A Company

    It is amazing to think that a company as large as Marriott Vacations Worldwide that our letter sent to a Senior Leader would result in a form letter equating to to bad, so sad, call an 800 number. The concept of Customer Advocacy is a joke. Their idea of advocacy is to point at lines in a 48-page contract that alludes to items that were specifically omitted or misrepresented. We were TOLD Our unit would increase in value. It would be easy to resell. This is REAL ESTATE, with a deeded property . Our children will inherit the property .We upgraded 3 times, chasing the dream that the Sheraton/Marriott employees were selling. At no point during any of our contract signings, were we ever informed of the rescission period, nor did we sit down and review the real cost of the loan with our Sheraton agent. There is also a whole load of hidden fees that were never disclosed to us, nor do we understand their purpose, other than to take more of our money. We have no idea why, even though there have been little improvements done to the resort, that the maintenance fees have continued to rise way above the rate of inflation. Nothing is ever explained and when you ask questions your agents tell you to refer to the contract for explanations on the maintenance fees. Good luck squeezing us for anything more! We dont want what you have stuck us with.
