Vacation Rentals Glacier National Park

Better Than The Four Seasons

Father and Toddler Fatally Shot by Man Who Ran Over Them

We have traveled near and far, from Maine to Spain, and we have never experienced anything as fantastic as Glacier Bear Retreat. Before we even arrived, Gail sent tons of useful info and when I asked questions she called with detailed explanations. During our stay she made herself 100% available and was like a 24/7 concierge.

The house itself was phenomenal with top-of-the-line everything.automated reclining sofas, heated beds , thick down comforters. Everything we needed was therewood for the fire pit a well stocked pantry citronella candles to detract bugs.

We had a fantastic vacation. Obviously the area is gorgeous and very worth visiting- but Gail and Glacier Bear Retreat made it out-of-this-world. My kids are already asking when we can return!

To maximize guest experiences, each cabin has a front porch and lawn chairs, a fire pit, a picnic table, BBQ facilities, and comfortable bedding.

Glacier Raft Company Client Testimonial

12 Gorgeous Montana Vacation Rentals Near Glacier National Park ...

I just recently stayed a week at the Glacier Raft Company. We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins. There were 7 of us who stayed for a week. The cabin was great. It offered enough room to relax and was clean and comfortable. It was an excellent place to come home to after a day of hiking and sight seeing. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed and that our trip was what we had hoped for. The store staff was helpful and positive.

We also went on a 8 mile rafting trip. We were lucky enough to get Abbey for our guide. There were 11 of us in her raft and she handled the boat like a pro. She is very knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. If you get a chance to raft the Middle Fork of the Flathead River make sure you use this company and ask for Abbey. Shes a positive ball of energy who will keep you safe and make sure you enjoy the ride.

We will return to Glacier Raft Company!

Tips For Booking Rooms In Park

I have been checking xanterra frequently to find rooms in park during the dates for our trip, and on several occasions have come across availability. I click immediately to book the room, it loads forever and then either says there is no availability that date or just never finishes loading the page. This has happened I think four times in the past week. Is it just bad luck – others are booking it up instantly? Or does anyone have any tips on actually snagging a room when I see it? Also, are there certain times of day that are better to check?

A couple of things.

– Website might be malfunctioning: I noticed that they have changed the design of the website again, so there could be an issue there, or the web servers could be acting up. Have you called Xanterra when this happens? The next time it does, call them and see what they see available in the system .

– You are unlucky with your timing and the room has been recently booked by someone else: Cancellations happen in real-time . But it takes time for rooms to go from “available” to “sold out” on the web interface – so there is a period of time after someone books a room that it still shows the icon as available, but when you actually try to book it it is sold out. Nothing you can do about this but to keep trying.

Maybe try another browser?

al_in_al – Those theories make sense. Good idea to try calling.

The main communities to the east are St. Marywhich is the closest town to the St. Mary EntranceBabb, Browning, and East Glacier Park Village.

Right at the East Entrance to Glacier National Park is St. Mary Village, just steps away from the wonders of the park grounds.

Best Hikes And Trails

North Cascades has more than 400 miles of trails, so you’ll need to narrow down the type of scenery you want to explore.

If you’re looking to pack in as much beauty as possible, take the Cascade Pass Trail to the Sahale Glacier. The park’s signature hike, it’s 12 miles round trip and gains just under 4,000 feet of elevation. Throughout the hike, you’ll get a taste of all the park offers: a single-track trail along mountain ridges, sections through meadows and forest, views of glaciers, and the chance to spot wildlife like grizzly bears and mountain goats. There’s a campsite at the bottom of the Sahale Glacier if you’d prefer to do it as an overnight trip. Oh, and a helpful tip: Don’t bother trying to hike it before June. In fact, there’s usually snow along the trail into early July. The trail gets busy don’t expect solitude.

For something totally different, consider taking a short stroll at the Happy Creek Forest Walk. It’s a 0.3-mile-long boardwalk through the forest with informational signage along the way. The gain is very gradual and the trail is wheelchair accessible. It’s a great spot to take a few photos or relax, read, or sketch on a bench under the trees.
