If you rent points to book your stay, youll be able to use that confirmation number to link the reservation to My Disney Experience. Then, youll be able to utilize Online Check-In just as a traditional hotel guest would be able to. Youll also be able to make dining reservations, FastPass+ reservations , etc. just as a regular guest would be able to. Youll also be able to use your phone or MagicBand to open your door if you want.

Youll also be able to use Magical Express to get to your room , and youll fall under the Resort Guests category when it comes to Park Pass availability.

What about other perks? DVC Members get access to DVC lounges, etc. so do you get those benefits by renting points? Unfortunately, you do not. You wont get access to the DVC lounges or be able to use the DVC member discounts.

Disney Vacation Club Villas can fill up months in advance, especially during peak seasons. As a result, the earlier you book, the greater the likelihood that Disney will have your preferred resort and room type available. . Still, great rooms can often still be found just 2 or 3 months in advance, depending on the season. Four to eight months in advance is the most common booking window we see.

To determine the cost of your stay, use our DVC Points Calculator below. Points rent for $19 – $21 each. For reservations less than 7 months in advance the fee is $19 per point rented. For reservation made more than 7 months in advance the fee is $21. Your Total Rental Cost is the number of points you need multiplied by either $19 or $21 depending on how far in advance you are making your reservation.

Example: A 1 Bdrm Standard View Villa at Disneys Boardwalk for 6 nights beginning June 5, 2016 is 140 Points. The cost for 140 Points at $19/point = $2,660.00. Thats your TOTAL COST! In short, yes its allowed and no, you wont get in trouble with Disney for renting points. Again, by renting points youre essentially staying as the guest of the DVC Member, which is allowed.

There are so many places to grab something to eat or drink at the Grand Californian. We ate a ton of meals at Craftsman and Im not even mad about it!

Need a drink and time to unwind? Head to Craftsman Bar where you can sit poolside and enjoy an extensive drink menu and food.

Reservations are recommended, or you can walk up for grab and go to the Craftsman Grill side. They even have easy grocery type items to keep in your room for snack and easy breakfasts. But I prefer this breakfast . . .

How Early Should You Book

One question is how early can you book, but how early SHOULD you book is an entirely separate matter. The representative from Davids said its hard. If youre looking at a resort thats really close to a theme park or has access to Disneys monorail system, those tend to get all booked up about 7-11 months in advance. If you also have something very specific in mind like you want a room at Bay Lake Tower or a studio with a theme park view, those are also things that youll want to book 11 months in advance.

If youre looking for something like a preferred studio at Saratoga Springs Resort where there tends to be more inventory and availability , the representative suggested guests book their rooms about 4-5 months in advance.

If there is availability for the room/resort youve listed, theyll reach out to the DVC member to secure it.

The representative said that sometimes the members are really quick and will book within 2-3 hours of Davids reaching out to them. Others may take a day or two, but Davids will follow up with them. The representative said that guests can always call and see what stage theyre at in terms of whether the room has been booked or what the situation is.

The Grand Floridian

Once the reservation has been secured by the member, youll get an email with a confirmation number and youll be able to view your reservation. Youll then be able to link that reservation to My Disney Experience.

Youll also get a link to complete the online payment form and pay the remaining balance. The payment for the remaining balance is due within 24 hours of receiving the confirmation that the room has been booked. Youll also get a rental agreement sent to you your payment in full of the reservation amount is considered your acceptance of the rental agreement.

How Do You Save Money

The way you save money is Davids DVC rental coordinates renting points through Disney Vacation Club members who might not be using their Disney Vacation Club Points this year.

Since Disney Vacation Club Members save a tremendous amount on their rooms, you can end up saving close to 50% Off by booking one of these rooms.

Do You Have To Be A Dvc Member To Stay In A Dvc Room

The short answer here is no. You do not need to be a DVC Member to stay in a DVC room. You can book a room at a DVC hotel or DVC villas directly through Disney OR you can rent points.

When you rent points, youre essentially staying as a guest of the member.

Some of you may be familiar with timeshares that let you stay there for a steep discount if you agree to listen to a timeshare spiel or something like that. If you rent DVC points you do NOT have to attend any kind of timeshare spiel. Instead, youll just check-in like a normal guest would and stay in the room as a guest of the DVC member. The Villas at Disneys Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is currently the smallest Disney Vacation Club property, making it incredibly difficult to both own and visit due to its popularity. In contrast, the rooms at the Grand Californian represent some of the largest found at any DVC Resort. The resort offers a total of 71 rooms, ranging from Deluxe Studio accommodations to Three-Bedroom Grand Villas. Although no specific room view categories are available, several villas feature fantastic views of Disneys California Adventure theme park.

Deluxe Studio accommodations sleep up to four adults and are quite spacious in size. Each villa features one queen-size bed, one queen-size sleeper sofa, a small kitchenette, one bathroom, and a small porch or balcony.
