Today, we add another Utah wonder: Dead Horse Point.
While you may want to wait until the kids grow up to explore the more popular Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point is a beautiful alternative for those visiting as a family.
Home to expansive canyons, dramatic desert vistas, and fabulous hiking trails, this glorious state park is ideal for experiencing Moabs desert allure, especially during the springtime, when temperatures are perfect for exploring.
If youre feeling adventurous, you can explore a cave or two or opt to spend a night in a yurt.
Dead Horse Point is considered one of the best places in the USA for stargazing, so youll be in for a real treat the family wont ever forget!
Top tip! If your kids love space, make sure you pack a portable telescope for children: they are perfect for travel and make stargazing nights even more jaw-droppingly awesome!
Hershey Pennsylvania: A Family Spring Break Escape

Sedona Arizona: Have A Southwestern Adventure
The quaint town of Sedona, nestled in the majestic red cliffs in Northern Arizona is an ideal destination for a family spring break getaway. With beautiful scenery, great shops and restaurants, rugged hiking trails, and peaceful picnic sites, Sedona is a wonderful destination for a southwestern adventure.
My favorite place to stay in Sedona is the Best Western Arroyo Roble Hotel. Conveniently located in the middle of town, you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. Amenities include a delicious free breakfast, game room, free WiFi, and dog-friendly room options. While visiting Sedona, enjoy the beautiful scenery at Red Rock State Parkâs Crescent Moon picnic site. Itâs located on the Oak Creek and has tremendous views of the towering Cathedral Rock. It actually forms part of the epic Pacific Coast Highway which starts down in San Diego and finishes beyond Seattle with the Los Angeles to San Francisco drive being the most famous.
In the springtime its still shoulder season in the Pacific Northwest, meaning that youll encounter fewer crowds and have easy access to a lot of popular attractions.
The best way to take an Oregon coast road trip would be to start from Portland, drive to the coast and head south on Highway 101. A road trip down the coast is just over 350 miles, and can easily be done in 5-7 days. Once you reach the bottom of the state, take I-5 back up north for a quick return to Portland!Most activities on the Oregon Coast are accessible for all ages, and the majority of them are outdoors.
On the Northern Oregon Coast, youll find walkable beaches like Cannon Beach and Seaside. You can also take the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad on a fun steam train tour, perfect for young and old visitors.
