Before we get to the fun stuff, let’s talk about the health and safety measures. Universal Orlando, in accordance with the state of Florida and local governing bodies, has put into practice the following general safety procedures to make things as safe as possible for guests.
Universal Orlando Resort Health Measures
- Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated guests. For guests who have not been vaccinated, face coverings are encouraged while indoors.
- Each guest must confirm they aren’t feeling sick or experiencing flu-like symptoms, haven’t been in contact with someone known or suspected COVID-19 symptoms and are not under any self-quarantine orders before visiting.
- Hand sanitizer is available for use prior to boarding ride vehicles, as well as in other areas around the destination.
- Cashless payments are available in all areas .
Team members have recently been directing guests to use the finger scan when entering the theme parks or traveling between parks on the Hogwarts Express, and it’s cleaned regularly. We see team members frequently cleaning high-touch areas, and there is plenty of signage to show where restrooms are available for handwashing, along with hand sanitizer dispensers.

To Reserve Disney World And Other Attraction Tickets
You may order Disney World tickets, Universal Studios tickets, and SeaWorld tickets from us, and we can have the tickets waiting for you at your hotel or vacation home upon your arrival to Orlando or we can mail you the theme park tickets. All ticket orders will be fulfilled and processed by Kissimmee Guest Services, which is our ticket division. We suggest to all our guests to order your tickets early. There is no charge to order the tickets, and we do not charge you until 15 days prior to your arrival. Please note, that the theme parks typically go up on their ticket prices 2 or 3 times a year. Changing A Universal Vacation Package
If I book a vacation package thru Universal ~I understand that I can cancel 46 days out and get a full refund after that there is a $200 fee . can the package be changed to different date and not cancelled w/o paying the $200 ? also to avoid that all together ~ is it better to book thru the hotel directly or say thru orbitz that allows you to cancel a couple days out w no penalty ?

It should be in the Terms & Conditions of each package you book, which you can read before you click “buy.”
If Orbitz in fact does get you out of the penalty, there is no reason why you can’t just book through them. You will get the same amenities as if you booked direct. The only incident that could throw a monkey wrench in it is if there is overbooking or some reason the hotel can’t accommodate everyone due to a leak or refurb or something of that nature. In instances of overbooking or needing to move people off-site, it is the third party bookers who are shown the door first.
If you are having trouble interpreting the T& Cs, if you post a link maybe someone can help further. There are many different packages/ways to book available so hard to say for sure without knowing what it is you are looking at.

What To Expect At Universal’s Volcano Bay
Note: Universal’s Volcano Bay closed for the winter from Nov. 2, 2020, and reopened Feb. 27, 2021.
Much like the theme parks, wearing a mask is optional for fully vaccinated guests and encouraged while indoors for guests who have not been fully vaccinated. If you do wear one around the park, we suggest having a plastic bag on hand. When you go on rides, you can leave it with your shoes at the cubbies provided.
We saw team members cleaning and sanitizing life vests, rafts and inner tubes after each use. For rides with multi-person rafts, only one party is allowed in each raft as of March 2021. Standard height and weight requirements are still applicable.
Mobile ordering is available at Kohola Reef Restaurant & Social Club and for VB Premium Seating Dining, as well as regular ordering with paper menus. Once you’ve ordered your food, a team member will hand you the drinks and direct you to the dining tables. Someone else will then seat you and ask for your order number. Voila, another team member will bring the food to your table!

Walt Disney World Vacation Package Revisions
- Changes to Reservation Changes to the reservation, including but not limited to change in travel dates, length of stay, or hotel accommodations, are subject to availability at the time the change is requested and the guest is responsible for paying any increase in price resulting from the change. In addition, changes made 30 days or less prior to guest arrival are also subject to a change fee of $50 per package plus any change fees assessed by third party hotels or other suppliers.
- If changes are made to the package including, but not limited to, changes to travel dates, the package is subject to the Terms and Conditions applicable to packages at the time the change to the reservation is made and, in the case of changes to travel dates, pricing applicable to the new travel dates.

Book With Confidence Flexible Cancellation Policy At Walt Disney World Set To End Next Week
As a result of COVID-19 related travel issues, Walt Disney World Resort adopted a Book with Confidence flexible cancellation policy that began last year. As of May 1st, 2021, that policy is ending.
Under this flexible policy, guests could Book with Confidence knowing that they would not be penalized for needing to change or cancel their resort stays.
For guest stays booked on or after May 1st, 2021, the Book with Confidence policy ends and the standard Walt Disney World® Resort Cancellation Policy will return. That policy is listed below:

Bookings For Vacation Home Townhome & Condo Reservation & Cancellation Policies
To make a vacation home reservation we require a $50 non-refundable deposit. The balance of your vacation home, townhome or condo will be charged 30 days prior to your reservation date.
If you are staying in a vacation home, townhome, or condo the management company that is in charge of looking after the unit will charge all guests a property protection fee. This fee works just like insurance, and if anything should be damaged or broken while you are staying in the home, this property protection fee will cover the damages up to $250. Please note, since this fee is charged by the management companies it is not included in the total price.
If you are ordering pool heat for your vacation home or townhome you will need to arrange this with the management company. Affordable Travel cannot be responsible for the pool heat since the property management company offers this service.
You May Be Able To Reschedule Or Receive A Refund
Your safety is the top priority of every theme park in Central Florida. Due to this, they all have similar severe-weather cancellation policies in place.
With that said, however, none of the cancellation policies include airline tickets, car rentals, or vacation insurance youll need to check with those specific parties for their own policies.
Walt Disney World hurricane policy
If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area, or for your place of residence, within seven days of your scheduled arrival date, you may reschedule or cancel your vacation package and most room-only reservations without any cancellation fees. Select special events and dining experiences are not eligible for a refund.
Universal Orlando hurricane policy
If you are not able to arrive at Orlando due to an active named storm impacting your travel, youll be able to reschedule your vacation or receive a complete refund. This policy is for Universal Orlandos hotels only and does not include theme-park tickets but, in many cases, these tickets can still be used at a later date.
Reservations must have been booked a minimum of seven days in advance and cancelled before 6:00 pm the day prior to arrival.

Hotel Reservations During Holiday Season
If you are making a hotel reservation during Holiday Season, we require all guest to put up a $50 deposit. The final balance for these reservations will be charged 15 days prior to your arrival.
Cancellation Policy for Hotel Reservations During Holiday Season
If you cancel your reservation prior to 15 days of your arrival then we will refund you $35 of your $50 deposit. If you cancel your reservation within 15 days of your arrival there will be a 1 night cancellation fee and any reservations cancelled within 2 days your arrival will be charged the full amount of your stay.

You May Be Asked To Take Shelter At Your Hotel
If a hurricane is bound for Orlando while youre staying at one of Disneys or Universals hotels, you may be asked to take shelter in your room. Historically, the staff has done an extraordinary job at keeping guests calm and informed. Theyll ensure everybody is fed and will, likely, put extra entertainment in place. In emergency situations, guests may be asked to gather in a large, enclosed space with no windows.
