As former crew & owners of a 72′ yacht based in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, we always wondered why charter guests thought they had to go to the neighboring British Virgin Islands for their vacations. Yes, the islands in the BVI are great but it’s possible they are going to be closed to tourism until September which is the middle of hurricane season! Under The Water In The Virgin Islands

Us Virgin Islands Yacht Charter Overnight
An overnight yacht charter is perfect if you have two days to explore the different gems of the US Virgin Islands. Start your cruise along the beaches and bay of St. Thomas, then head over to St. John, where you can enjoy a bevy of activities inland and on the beach. Anchor at Caneel Bay, then in the morning, head your way to either St, Croix, for its sugar cane plantations, or visit the small island of Water Island, which is only 490 acres large and only joined the US in 1996. The island is considered a hidden gem that is perfect for hiking, meeting friendly and local people, and a short bike tour of the island. Head back to the marina in St. Thomas at the end of the day.

Great Snorkeling At The Indians
Located just off of Norman Island, The Indians are composed of three rock formations sticking out of the water, but its whats under the water that is truly amazing. The Indians have two very different seascapes, on one side there is a lot of soft coral and beautiful sea fans and unbelievably colorful fish. The other side is a steep wall that goes from around ten feet to thirty-five feet where moray eels hang out on the outcroppings.
A famous and fun day trip is referred to as The Triangle. The trip explores part of beautiful St.John and stunning Jost Van Dyke and Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands.
Captain Dan created such a memorable day for my husband and I from the moment he picked us up to when he dropped us off. Dan asked what we were interested in doing for our trip and was very knowledgeable in picking destinations that matched perfectly with what we wanted. Our day was a mix of jumping into the beautiful, clear waters to swim to nearby islands to explore, stopping in the BVI for lunch on Jost Van Dyke, and getting drinks at the Soggy Dollar. We toured the coastline of different parts of the islands and Dan was able to point out celebrity homes and had facts about everywhere we looked. Dan was also able to tell us about different luxury yachts that we passed . We wrapped up our day with snacks and drinks from the Pizza Boat before Dan dropped us back off. Overall, this is a day that we wish we could live over and over again. Thanks again, Captain Dan!

Bareboat means that the yacht only possesses the bare essentials and has no crew. Variations exist however a skipper can be added, water toys are included, snorkeling and diving equipment perhaps, so the charter is not completely bare.
