Cielo Mar Papagayo Peninsula
The final home on our list although as mentioned, were listing these rentals in no particular order is Cielo Mar on the exclusive Papagayo Peninsula in Guanacaste, overlooking Playa Prieta.

Standing on the bridge gives the effect of soaring through the jungle and above the ocean. The bridge also provides protection form the elements while swimming or outside dining.
The pool at Cielo Mar has a 90-foot-long infinity edge which gives the impression of swimming through air 300 feet above the ocean. This is a house with a phenomenal design, all about site lines and encompassing indoor/outdoor living.

Town Shops And Restaurants
If you prefer to watch surfers in action rather than try the sport yourself, Tamarindo still has plenty to offer. The streets are lined with barefoot hippie boutiques selling clothes and local crafts, and there are a number of good restaurants. Classic Costa Rican food centers around rice, beans, pork, and plantains, with delicious fresh fruit juices or a cold Imperial beer on the side. Many local restaurants will serve a dish known as casado at lunchtime – a full plate consisting of meat or fish, rice and beans, plantains, and salad. Its usually both tasty and very good value. Youll also often see ceviche on menus at beachfront places although its not traditionally Costa Rican , with all the fresh fish you find here its a great light meal option.
Some of our favorite spots include Santa Rita cafe which offers great coffee, fresh fruit smoothies and healthy brunch options like avocado toast, and Shrimp Hole, a tiny restaurant that serves ocean-fresh shrimp in every guise possible in curries, doused with garlic butter or with fresh mango salsa, plus ceviche, poke bowls and more.
Tamarindo Activities Near Luxury Vacation Homes
Those interested in seeing the indigenous wildlife will want to spend a day at Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge. This is a perfect way to see a wide variety of animal and plant species on either land or water tours. You are likely to see crocodiles, coatimundis, howler monkeys and an array of waterfowl. If youd rather have a birds-eye view of the forest canopy, there are several ziplining tours available. For the best canopy experience, a morning tour is the best choice for spotting wildlife. From up in the canopy to below the earth, try spelunking in the Barra Honda National Park, the only park in Costa Rica with cavernous underground trails.
