Report On Vacation Rental On Ile Saint Louis
I have been so busy at work since returning from Paris, I haven’t had time to provide a trip report but I thought I’d post a report about our vacation rental on Ile Saint Louis since I do not see it among the places in the vacation rentals for Paris on Trip Advisor.
I’ll post my rather long description in the next post.
We are a family of four which included our two young adult daughters. We rented through Guest Apartment Services and found them to be excellent. We arranged for a driver to meet us at Charles De Gaulle airport and he drove us to the office of Guest Apartment Services, where we paid the balance of our rental, obtained keys and then were taken around the corner to the apartment and shown around and instructed on the use of appliances, telephone, television, etc.
Our apartment was a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on Ile Saint Louis, on Quai dAnjou steps away from Pont de Sully facing the right bank of the Seine river. The location is excellent allowing us to walk almost everywhere we wanted. The building is 17th century with steep but beautiful staircases. Our flat was on the 2nd floor with no elevator so not good for those with mobility problems but good for a bit of exercise after eating so much delicious food.
We loved our stay and would definitely use Guest Apartment Services again.
A Charming Residential Island
Thus far, there were two islands so-called “Lîle aux Vaches” and “Lîle Notre-Dame”. They got reunited thanks to an artificial dock. With a lot of mansions, this island is pretty residential. However, the rich and famous inhabitants transformed this place into a district appreciated by those tourists who like to take an alternative way. Since the population is only 2,500 large, the Île Saint-Louis remains a very trendy and typical village in the heart of the French capital.Baudelaire, Claudel, Blum, Pompidou used to pass by.
