As I mentioned above, if you booked your Disney vacation through a Disney travel agent, you are unable to cancel your trip yourself. Because the travel agent made the booking, they are the only ones authorized to make the cancellation.

You can absolutely call Disney and speak with a Cast Member to ask questions and get clarification, but the travel agent must do the actual canceling.

Disney Worlds New Attractions For 2022

Prior to the shutdown Disney had announced a number of news attractions that they planned to have open before the 50th anniversary in 2021, but many of these got pushed back. While we dont have opening dates for these attractions yet, I am pretty sure we will see them sometime in 2022 or even 2021:

• HarmonioUS .
• TRON coaster
• Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
• Epcots Space 220 restaurant

What Is The 2022 Disney World Cancellation Policy

Disney has a very generous cancellation policy. If you cancel your package 30 days or more ahead of time you get a full refund on the deposit or any payments youve made. You can also make changes 30 days or more without penalty, so if you book a trip for February but then decide you want to go in April you can make that change based on availability and youd only pay if theres a difference in price. No change fees. The deposit for packages is only $200, and for room only reservations its the cost of 1 night, so you dont even have to pay the full amount at the time of booking.

Exceptions To These Rules

Disney has a history of amazing customer service, and this is no different when it comes to canceling a Disney vacation. They understand just how gutted people are when they have to cancel.

I have heard many stories from people who had to cancel at the last minute due to extenuating circumstances, like sudden illness, tragedy, etc. Pretty much across the board, Disney Cast Members work with these people to make the process of canceling as painless as possible. Sometimes this might mean waiving fees.

The moral of the story, talk with a Cast Member and tell them what is going on. They might be able to make the process better.

New Important Requirements: Walt Disney World Resort Reservations

As Walt Disney World® Resort reopens, Park attendance will be strictly managed through a new Park reservation system. Guests who do not have an advance Park reservation will be denied entry. To enter a Park on a particular day, both a Park reservation for that day and a Ticket valid for Park admission on that day are required. This applies to Park Tickets included with or added to a Costco Travel package. Prior to purchasing your Costco Travel package, it is recommended all Guests check the Park Availability Calendar at www.disneyworld.disney.go.com/availability-calendar . Disney Dining Plan Add

Once familiar with the Basic Disney Package, take a look at what upgrade packages have to offer. For example, if you enjoy eating sit-down meals at least once a day, consider Disneys Dining Plan. Dining plans are available for guests age 3 and above, but infants & toddlers may share at no additional charge. Dining entitlements expire at midnight on the day of check-out. Dont Be Scared To Book Your Vacation

Hurricane season is long and you should not let it affect your booking dates. Although, my family trip was affected last year I wouldnt hesitate to book another trip during that time period. We were able to move our trip to December, find all the dining reservations and most of the FastPasses we wanted and still have a great trip. The odds of your trip being rescheduled or canceled or effected by a hurricane are very low. It is always great to be prepared just incase, but dont fret.

Walt Disney World 2022 Tickets

Whether you are booking as part of a package or buying ticket separately, you have some options when it comes to ticket types available in 2022. Ill go over the basics below.

Base tickets

When it comes to just getting into the main theme parks, you can get base tickets for anywhere from 1-10 days. These tickets gain you admittance to one park per day. Pricing starts at $109 for a one a day ticket, though the price per day decreases the more days you buy. Pricing depends on your travel dates and tickets must be used within the time period that they were purchased for.

Park hopper

You have the option to add on park hopping to any length of base tickets. Park hopper allows you to go to more than 1 park in a day. Currently Disney is allowing park hopping beginning at 2pm Guests must make a theme park reservation via the Disney Park Pass reservation system for the first park they plan to visit. After entering that first park, Guests will be able to visit the next park starting at 2 PM until each parks regularly scheduled closure. You can visit a third park after that if you wish to. Park hopping is added for the length of your ticket purchase and ranges from an additional $65-85 total.

How To Cancel Your Vacation

Canceling your Disney World vacation is a fairly simple process, once you know where to look. Most Disney World reservations can be canceled either online or over the phone.

To cancel your reservation online, log onto your Disney Account and click on My Reservations. There, you should see a link that says Cancel Reservation if you are able to do so online. If you cannot cancel your reservation online, instead of seeing that link youll see a message indicating that youll need to cancel over the phone.

In those situations, you can call 934-7639 to cancel your Disney World hotel room or package reservation.

Walt Disney World Package Deposit And Cancellation Policy

If you are planning a trip, you need to know the Walt Disney World deposit and cancellation policies.

Disney World Package Deposit & Cancellation Policy:

You can book a Disney World Package for as little as $200 per room. Disney then requires you pay the remaining balance of your package at least 30 days prior to arrival. Your package is completely pre-paid, before you leave for your vacation.

Resorts Available In 2022

There are still a few Disney resorts that are not available for booking in 2022 yet. There are also some that only have part of their resort open the DVC or Disney Vacation Club section. You can book these rooms even if youre not a member, but just keep in mind that the room types, layouts, and prices tend to be a bit different.

As of this update there are still no opening dates for the following:

All About 2022 Disney World Vacation Packages

A Disney World vacation package is a booking that includes a resort stay and theme park tickets. If you buy the two separately that is a room only reservation. There are some differences between the two:

Included in a Disney World vacation package

Your package will include your resort stay and tickets. You will also have the option to add on other components, such as the dining plan and memory maker. If you have a room only reservation you cannot add the dining. However, you can convert a room only reservation to a package with the room and dining if you wish to do that in that case it will follow the same rules in terms of deposits, etc. as above.

Disney package guests also receive magical extras. You can check Disneys page for the latest, but they usually include discounts and freebies for various things, including free tickets for mini golf, discounts at Disney Springs restaurants and shops, and more.

Tips For Dealing With The Disney Reservations Center

Be polite but persistent when calling the Disney Reservations Center. Some of the agents answering the phone know more than others, and some will try harder than others to get you the best deal. If the first agent you speak with isnt helpful, say thanks, end the call and try again. With hundreds of agents at the call center, its unlikely youll get the same agent twice in a row.

Keep calling back periodically if your dates are not immediately available at the discounted rate, because people change and cancel reservations all the time. Something is quite likely to open up eventually.

If you work with an agent at the reservations center who is especially helpful or friendly, be sure to do the survey at the end of the call. Or get his or her name and take two minutes to send an email complimenting the agents work!

Walt Disney Worlds Cancelation Policy For Hotels

Currently, as an additional measure for COVID-19 safety, Disney has waived their normal cancelation policy. For arrivals through April 30, 2021, Disney has waived any regular change fees for cancelations up to the check-in date.

Normally, the cancelation fee is the deposit you paid when booking your reservation, which becomes non-refundable if you cancel shortly before your arrival date. It isnt clear if this policy will be reinstated after April 30, 2021 or if a new policy will be put in place.

Its important to note that Disney Vacation Clubs policy for member points is different. If a reservation is canceled 31 days or more in advance, the Vacation Points are returned in their Use Year. If the cancelation occurs 30 days or less in advance, then they are placed in a holding pattern. Review the Disney Vacation Club Cancelation Policy, and remember: if you are renting points, then youll need to check the cancelation policy of the individual company or person from whom your points are rented.

How Much Will You Be Refunded

The total amount you may or may not be refunded will depend on how far out from your vacation you are canceling. Disneys official policy for 2021 is below:

The three windows where your cancelation will impact your total refund amount are 30 days or more prior to your arrival, 2 to 29 days prior to your arrival, or 1 day or less prior to your arrival .

If you cancel 30 days or more prior to your arrival, your total amount paid thus far will be refunded, minus any non-refundable fees, travel protection plan costs, or third-party fees. If you cancel between 2 to 29 days prior to your arrival, your total amount paid thus far, minus a $200.00 cancelation fee along with the other excluded fees above, will be refunded.

If you cancel within 1 day prior to arrival, or if you are a no-show, the full price of your vacation package will be nonrefundable. If you are already in Disney World and need to depart early and cancel the remainder of your reservation, you will not receive a refund for any unused or partially used portion of your trip.

What Disney Is Automatically Cancelling Due To Capacity Reductions

Whether you choose to cancel your reservation or not, Disney has announced a series of cancellations that they will be making automatically that may impact your upcoming vacation. These include:

• All FastPass+ selections

Haunted Mansion

If you had previously booked any of these experiences and prepaid any sort of amount of down payment towards those bookings, Disney should be refunding that amount in full.

Can I Sell My Disney Tickets

Disney theme park tickets are NOT transferable. You cannot gift, sell, barter, or exchange your Disney tickets for any goods, services, or benefits. Each ticket admits one guest and must be used by the same person on all days. Disney may require valid photo identification at the entrance of a theme park and to cross over to other parks with the park hopper option.
