Paris And Normandy Travel
After I arrived at the airport in Paris I need to travel to:
Lieu Dit La Tupiniere
Tinchanbury Bocarge
61800 Frenes
I have someone at the address in Normandy who can drive for approx 60-80 minutes to collect me.
What will be the quickest way from the airport in Paris , to about 60-80 minutes drive from the location above. I will be arriving on a weekday mid-afternoon at the airport in Paris
Thank you

While we are waiting for the airport, you can rather easily reach Flers by train from CDG or ORY, in under 6 hours. Flers is only 11km from Frênes.
The closest train station to Frênes is in the nearby town of Flers. The distance between the two towns is 11km. Trains for Flers depart from GareMontparnasse in Paris. There are 5 direct trains a day that take 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 32 minutes. A sixth train requires a transfer and takes just over 4-1/2 hours. Use sncf-connect.com for schedules, prices and ticket purchase. Buy tickets 4 months in advance for the cheapest prices. Advance purchase tickets cost as little as 15 . However, a last minute ticket purchased at the train station just prior to boarding only costs 37.60, in case you’d rather wait to see how long it will take to get from whatever airport to Gare Montparnasse. If your flight arrives mid-afternoon during mid-week then you might be able to catch the 17h13 train but if you can’t make that train then the next daily train departs at 19h43 and arrives in Flers at 22h15.
thank you

Planning Tips For Visiting Normandy
If Normandy is on your must-visit list when vacationing in Paris, you will want to plan your trip around that as well as come prepared with everything you need to get the most out of your tour. Is there anything else you plan on doing before and during your Normandy tour from Paris?
Tip #1: Be Prepared
Different times of the year will have different types of weather, just like most places. However, its important to consider that Normandy is on the Atlantic coast. There may be a short rain shower on occasion, even in the summer. You may also encounter wet, foggy weather coming in off the ocean. Bringing a collapsible umbrella as well as a lightweight windbreaker or jacket can be helpful.
Tip #2: Do Your Research
If you dont know much about D-Day and the role it played in the war, you might want to brush up on some history facts. Knowing more about the locations that are famous for the roles they played in the beach landings can help you appreciate them much more when you get to see them in person.
Tip #3: Look for Family-Friendly Options
Not everyone will need a family-friendly tour of Normandy. However, if you have children and want to bring them along on a fun and educational tour of Normandy and explain the importance of memorial sites like the American Cemetery, there are tour options available. Theres no need to keep the kiddos at home if they can benefit from a tour of Normandy.
Tip #4: Explore More Than Beaches
Tip #5: Go at The Right Time

Norman lords led by William, the Duke of Normandy, and later named William the Conqueror, crossed the English Channel to successfully capture the throne of England.
A few centuries later, Normandy wavered back and forth between English and French control during the Hundred Years War. Plantagenet King of England and Crusader Richard the Lionheart is buried in Rouen, the regional capital of modern-day Normandy.

Restaurants & Eating Out
The Ciel de Paris is one of the most romantic restaurants in the city. It is located in the Montparnasse Tower with beautiful views of the city. Youll also find a well-stocked champagne bar available to you. The Polidor is one of the oldest restaurants in Paris.
It dates back to 1895 and the interior decor hasnt changed much since. This is one of those restaurants that only take cash, so have a few euros on you.
In Paris, its hard to find a truly casual restaurant. Because of this, youll want to make sure that youre dressed for the occasion. If youre not sure what you could or should wear to a particular establishment, some will list their dress code online or you can always give them a call.
You should consider taking a French cooking class while you are in Paris. Learn from the best and make the dishes you love at home!
