So How Do I Sell My Hilton Timeshare

Owner Review: Hawaii Timeshare from Hilton Grand Vacations

There are several options when selling a Hilton Grand Vacation Club timeshare. Make sure you consult a trustworthy and responsible resource when you are ready. The most obvious source of accurate information is with Hilton directly. They may have solutions for you, or they can refer you to a trusted third-party service. Our online resale marketplace is a trusted source for posting your Hilton timeshare for sale.

Our representatives at Timeshares Only will make you a custom, online advertisement that will attract people looking to buy Hilton points on the resale market. We have over 25 years of experience helping owners sell their weeks or points and attract hundreds of buyers. As ARDA members, were trusted by top developers and named the number one recommended service.

Knowing what you own will help but is not necessary. Make sure youre maintenance fees are paid off and there are no outstanding dues on your account. This is the most important part before you can sell your Hilton ownership.

Remember, timeshare is not an investment. You likely wont get back what you paid for it, but you will get out of HGV fees or annual dues. Keep this in mind when deciding on what to price your property for, and how it will attract the right buyer.

Cancel Your Hilton Grand Vacation Club Timeshare Contract With A Timeshare Attorney

A timeshare attorney has a legal and ethical obligation to care for you and you alone, not a company that cares about a profit. Your timeshare attorney will formulate a solid and individual exit strategy with you.

Having a timeshare attorney on your side can also offer practical, material benefits when it comes to timeshare cancellation. Only an attorney can provide you one on one legal advice when it comes to understanding your actual rights and remedies as a consumer based on your experience.

Only an attorney who directly represents a client, can offer the opportunity to pursue litigation if it is warranted. Many resort developers have been more open to negotiation and settlement than they would be with a consumer who comes to the table without representation and may not understand the legal aspects of timeshare cancellation.

Tennessee Appeals Court Upholds $500k Punitive Damage Verdict Against Westgate Resorts

Unlike the Wisconsin case, the Tennessee lawsuit actually went to court. Most timeshare lawsuits never reach a courthouse. Instead, they are settled out of court with confidential agreements between the timeshare owners and the timeshare companies. There are lawyers around the country who proudly specialize in getting owners out of their contracts & #8212 by threatening to sue over disclosure problems. Then they settle, and no one talks about the details. The Tennessee case, involving Nathan and Patricia Overton, is noteworthy because their complaints were publicly adjudicated in court.

The Overtons sued Westgate & #8212 a $1.4 billion company & #8212 to rescind a contract on grounds they were defrauded during their sales presentation and never provided adequate documentation for their $39,280 purchase in 2011. The trial court ruled in their favor and ordered Westgate to rescind the contract and repay their purchase money.

According to the appellate court’s Jan. 30 ruling: “The trial court found that the defendant had violated the respective statutory provisions and was guilty of fraud and misrepresentation.”

The court also awarded the Overtons $600,000 in punitive damages to “punish” Westgate for its business practices & #8212 which included a pattern, admitted by Westgate officials in court, of misleading potential buyers about their timeshares.

In addition to evaluating Westgate’s business practices, the courts examined Westgate’s ability to pay punitive damages.

The staff at Tuscan Village are attentive and the hotel amenities are great. The Vineland area around the hotel has plenty of varied restaurants and Disney World is only 15 minutes away. Would recommend!

I had an overall great experience with Hilton Grand Vacations. I did not buy their product or service. I just said “NO” and that was it. I completed all the requirements for the sales presentation and walked away. From the beginning, the salesperson that I spoke to by phone told me several times that I must attend the sales presentation in its entirety. The salesperson even stated in numerous times on the follow-up confirmation calls. It seems that a lot of folks jumped at the idea of a cheap vacation and never read the fine print or let themselves be talked into something they could not afford in the first place.

Properties Are Often Unavailable And Owners Can Be Locked Into Generational Contracts That Make It Impossible To Sell On

When Ellen Callis, a 68-year-old retired high school teacher from Phoenix, Arizona, first dipped her toes into the timeshare property market in August 2008, she was helping a colleague who was experiencing financial difficulties.

After investing in a second property in 2013, Ms Callis now says she has buyers remorse she is one of a growing number of timeshare owners desperate to quit burdensome contracts that extract hefty fees even when properties are unavailable to use.

“I am loath to add up how much I lost overall,” Ms Callis tells The National.

“Neither was an investment my investments are to make money, not toss it to the wind. I purchased pipe dreams of spending good times with family or friends, not investments.”

Ms Callis paid her former colleague about $3,000 for the timeshare property at the Wyndham Vacation Resort in the town of Flagstaff, 240 kilometres from her home and best known as the training base for Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins and Charles Duke before they landed on the Moon in 1969.

Sedona seemed like an attractive place to enjoy a vacation, especially during the autumn apple-picking season, she says.

If You Had a $100 or $200 Spend a Night on Us Certificate Rejected by Hilton, You May Benefit From a Proposed Class Action Settlement

A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit claims that Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc. and Hilton Grand Vacations Company, Inc. improperly rejected $100 and $200 Spend a Night on Us certificates provided to people who attended timeshare presentations offered by Hilton. Hilton denies these claims. The Court did not rule in favor of Plaintiff or Hilton. Instead, the parties agreed to the Settlement to avoid the expense and risks of continuing the lawsuit.

If you are eligible, you will have the choice to either receive either:

  • $25 or $50 .
  • Your options and the deadlines to exercise them are explained further on the FAQ page of this informational website.

Final approval was granted on February 4, 2021. On March 19, 2021, checks were mailed to class members who submitted a valid claim form and selected to receive the Cash Option. All other class members were sent a new SANU Rebate Certificate on March 19, 2021.

    Are Hilton Timeshares Worth It

Robocall defense firm sues Hilton timeshares for $17M

Vacation ownership may not be for everyone. Hilton timeshares are meant to be used every year, whether its to your Home resort or other Hilton resorts. Not only that, but they also come with annual fees and dues that must be paid. While the cost of timeshare maintenance fees can be less than your timeshare vacations, some owners see them as a major con to ownership. If you dont plan on using your Hilton timeshare every year, or dont think the maintenance fees are worth the experience, then Hilton timeshares may not be worth it to you.

How Do I Sell My Hilton Grand Vacation Timeshare

Another option to get rid of a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare is the resale route. Note, it is more complicated than it sounds. The reality is reselling a timeshare can be more stressful than owning one. And no one ever mentions how difficult the resale market can be to navigate.

Our team understands, if representatives were transparent about the timeshare industry, most companies would go bankrupt! Weve read thousands of horror stories from timeshare owners sharing their experiences. In addition, a common problem from most of these complaints is the increasing maintenance fees.

Yes, the Hilton Grand Vacations Club does offer an exit program of its own. But how many owners are willing to trust the people who put them in this mess in the first place? And like any resort exit program, there are certain requirements owners must meet first to qualify. So having a paid-off timeshare does not necessarily mean youre off the hook.

If youre still set on selling, we want to point out most timeshares do not retain a great resale value. It can be a disaster trying to resell your timeshare. Especially with the number of resale scams out there! If theres one thing that hasnt changed about the industry, its that new scams continue to develop each day. Nevertheless, Hilton still hasnt made a decision on whether to allow the transfer of its license or even shown a clear interest in doing so, sources said. Thats despite the fact that the suitors submitted opening-round offers in September.

There is no clear end, according to one source close to the talks, adding that suitors appear to have halted due diligence on the deal. Hilton is not giving specific feedback on what they want.

Under a 100-year deal announced at the time of the spinoff, Hilton Grand Vacations pays Hilton Worldwide a 5% gross royalty fee for the right to use the Hilton name. By adding the Hilton name to its existing timeshares, a new owner would pay more royalty fees to Hilton.

Now, it looks unlikely that Hilton Grand Vacations will announce a sale by the time it reports earnings on Feb. 26, according to two sources. One of the sources put the chances of a deal at 50-50.
