Disney also offers mobile apps like Disneyland iGuide and My Disney Experience, which archives all the details of your trip, like your hotel and dining reservations, so its a great planning tool, but is even more useful once youre at the resort complex, says Rotondo, who uses the My Disney Experience app to look up park hours, check out a list of current wait times at attractions and locate character meet-and-greet locations.

Disney sometimes sends out postcards and emails that offer deeply discounted Walt Disney World resort rates to the recipients. We cant publish those discounts, because Disney uses a PIN system so that only the recipient can use the code.
How do you get on the lists for these special PIN-coded postcards and emails? No one knows exactly, and we have done a lot of research on it over the last 10+ years. It appears that Disneys marketing department uses a variety of lists at different times. A specific geographical area might be targeted, or specific age groups, people with specific ages of children, etc.
If you want to have the best possible chance of getting a PIN-coded offer by mail or email, its definitely a good idea to request information from Disney whenever you get a chance, in order to get on its mailing lists. You might want to watch a FREE vacation planning video or request a brochure from Disney. They may get names from shopDisney.com, subscribers to Disney publications and Disney Visa cardholders. Discount Tickets At Disney World
If you are driving or renting a car in Florida, heres another option: there are two Walmarts in Kissimmee, not far from Walt Disney World, each of which offers a ticket center within the store that sells discounted multi-day Disney World tickets.

We suspect that the ticket desks in the Walmarts are actually operated by a local ticket broker. When weve checked prices in the past, Undercover Tourist had better deals. But the Walmart desks do offer an option for those who have actually arrived in Florida and still need to buy tickets.
The Walmart locations do not carry every ticket type. You have to buy the tickets in person they will not mail them. We recommend calling ahead to confirm prices, hours and availability. The numbers listed below are the main line for the store. Youll have to ask to be transferred to the ticket desk.

Take Advantage of Large Portion Sizes to Cut Costs
Many of the entrees and combo meals served at Walt Disney World restaurants include a large amount of food. If you are not big eaters, consider splitting an entree or combo meal between two people and possibly ordering an extra side dish or appetizer to share. We have done this many times and the server always cheerfully complied. In fact, at sit-down restaurants, usually the split entree was brought out on separate plates for us.
Another good option for light eaters at table service restaurants, and one that works well for someone dining alone, is to substitute an appetizer for your entree. For instance, order two appetizers instead of an appetizer and an entree, or order an appetizer instead of an entree, thus leaving yourself room for dessert. Be sure to inquire about the portion size first some appetizers are substantial and filling, but some arent.

AAA and CAA Discounts on Disney World Tickets
The American Automobile Association and Canadian Automobile Association is subdivided into regions, with each region having a different independent affiliated club. Each regional club offers different attraction tickets. Some offer discount Walt Disney World tickets some dont. Some dont have discounts, but offer a free bonus of some kind with the order, and if that bonus has value to you, that can be worth considering. Usually youll find that clubs in the southeastern US, especially driving distance from Walt Disney World, are the most likely to offer discount tickets. For the very latest information, you should always call your local club or check their web site to see what they offer. Obviously, you will need to be a member of AAA to get these discounts, but in many cases, a club in one region will allow members in other regions to take advantage of their discounts. It never hurts to ask!
Broadly speaking in recent years we have not seen better deals from AAA clubs than from Undercover Tourist on regular tickets for the general public, but if you are a member, it may be worth your time to check what they have. Remember to compare final prices with tax and other fees!
