What Does Best Places To Buy A Vacation Home In Florida Mean
To begin with, we should clarify what we mean when we say âbest places to buy a vacation home in Floridaâ. There are so many possible criteria depending on our purpose and preferences. In this case, we look at a vacation home as a rental property, for the time of the year when the owner is not using this. This should automatically make you think about Airbnb as this rental strategy would allow you to still use your income property during your vacations. Finally, it is the usual practice to look at rental income when it comes to vacation homes. So, the best places to buy a vacation home in Florida would be those cities which offer the highest Airbnb rental income.

Perfect Vacation Relaxation Spot The view from the room and balcony was gorgeous. Sitting on the balcony each morning sipping my coffee was heavenly. All of the amenities were close to the room and just short walks away. The property itself was well maintained and quiet while still being family friendly. The room was comfortable and a great home base at the end of our daily jaunts. Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater were very easy drives from the Inn. I can’t wait to visit again.

How Do We Define The Best Places To Buy Vacation Homes In A Market
Now that you know why you should consider buying a vacation home in Florida in 2020, letâs focus on how to find the top markets for this rental strategy in the Sunshine State. The main factor used to determine the best locations for investing in an Airbnb income property should be the return on investment. No matter their preferred strategy and available budget, investors want to choose the option which will provide them with the best rate of return on their initial capital. While there are many profitability metrics in real estate investing, here we focus on the cash on cash return. This is a very comprehensive measure of return on investment for rental properties â whether traditional or Airbnb â as it takes into consideration the method of financing, unlike the cap rate. Realistically speaking, very few investors can afford to buy a rental property fully in cash. Thatâs why it is important to factor the down payment and the monthly mortgage payments into the calculations of profitability.

Is Airbnb Legal In Florida
Then comes the question about the legality of Airbnb in the Sunshine State. As someone who is considering purchasing a vacation home in Florida, you will be glad to know that Airbnb might soon be fully legal throughout Florida. In January this year Senator Greg Steube introduced legislation which would preempt any local regulations on short-term rental passed after 2011 and essentially prohibit local governments from imposing future restrictions on Airbnb rentals. This legislation aims to counteract recent attempts to crack down on Airbnb activities throughout Florida, including a new fine of $20,000 to anyone renting out a space for less than 6 months, introduced in March 2016. But things are looking good for potential Airbnb income property owners in Florida after the newly designed rules proposed by Senator Greg Steube.
