Hilton Grand Vacations recently announced the start of a brand new ownership program, HGV Max. This new ownership system will give owners more benefits and vacation options than ever before. Hilton Grand Vacations acquired Diamond Resorts in March, which means that Diamond properties would be available to Hilton owners. As of now, the only way for Hilton timeshare owners to book vacations at Diamond properties is by being an HGV Max owner. There are two ways currently to become an HGV Max member. The first way is to buy a qualifying timeshare directly from Hilton after the start of the HGV Max program. Secondly, current HGVC owners can pay a $7,000 initiation fee to enroll in the program. Second Visit Not As Good As The First
After having stayed here last summer with friends I was excited to take my husband on our recent trip. I was very disappointed to learn at check-in that our room would be on a low floor… looking directly into the parking garage. I realize I’m not a member, but am a return customer and Hilton Honors member, and it meant nothing. We were told at check-in that no other rooms were available, yet everyone checking in around me was being put on floors 10-15 higher than us. It really felt like the front desk guy didn’t like us for some reason, and was giving us a crappy room as a result. I know they are updating rooms, but the old room we had was really showing its age. Combined with looking directly into the parking garage from our view… this was not the experience I was looking forward to on my anniversary getaway.I do like the convenience of the hotel located in the Miracle Mile shops, and how it’s a non-gaming hotel, but don’t see myself returning with the condition and location of the room we received, I’m not willing to risk that again on vacation.More

HGVC retains the right of first refusal for most of its properties. When selling an HGVC account, each owner is required to submit their purchase agreement contract to Hilton. Hilton may decide to exercise ROFR to purchase the subject property, thus refusing the sale to the original buyer. Some of the properties without ROFR are HGVC at the Flamingo, The Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort, and most affiliate resorts.
