Disney Vacation Club Cruise Points

Are Dvc Rentals Worth It

My Favorite Way To Use DVC Points :: Disney Vacation Club

The biggest advantage to renting DVC points is the amount of money you will save which is often up to 60% percent of what a hotel stay would normally cost for the same room you would rent with DVC points. For guests looking for a room reservation to any of the popular destinations like Old Key, Key West, Lake Tower, or Bay Lake this is a great way to save money on your reservation.

Plus you get all the perks of being an on-site Disney resort hotel room guest. Staying on-site at Disney resort hotel, such as a room reservation located by Disney World, comes with perks like booking FastPass+ 60 days in advance, close access to the parks, complimentary transportation to/from the airport using the Disney Magical Express Bus, extra time in the parks using Extra Magic Hours, and being a part of the Disney bubble on your trip.

The downsides of renting DVC rentals are small compared to the large upside of saving nearly 60% on your trip. The biggest downside is that cancellations and changes aren’t permitted which can be a big con for many people. You could offset this by purchasing travel insurance or use a credit card with built in protections. You should also be aware that DVC stays do not come with the full Mousekeeping experience. You will only get Trash and Towel service on the fourth night although they may remove trash at any point during your stay. You can pay extra for cleaning if you want it which can run about $30 for a studio or $75 for a three room villa.

Disney Vacation Club Owners Swap Your Points For A Cruise Vacation From Four Of The Most Magical Alluring Epic And Beyond Cruise Lines That Sail The Seas

You might be asking yourself “How does this all work? How do I ‘swap’ my points?”

Our Cruise Swap process is extremely easy. One of our Cruise Specialists will work with you, one on one, to find the Cruise you and your party would like to sail on. We then take the total cost of your Cruise and calculate how many points would be required to rent out to cover the cost. You can also add cash to the reservation if you are short the required amount of points.

This information is then provided to you in a quote format. If you are satisfied with the quote then Davids Vacation Club Rentals will immediately book your Cruise and proceed to rent your points. The funds received through rentals will be applied directly to the cost of your Cruise.

  • No $95.00 booking fee paid to Disney Vacation Club
  • More choice when booking Staterooms
  • More opportunities for stateroom upgrades at port

  • Points from all resale contracts are eligible

Not only can we secure your Cruise reservation but we can also take care of organizing your ground transportation as well as reserving your Dining , and, as a gift from David himself we will set your reservation up with on board credits *

* onboard credits are determined at the time final payment for the cruise is made, subject to change, one per reservation

Dvc Cost Vs Paying Cash For Your Resort Stay

Lets say you buy 160 points at Saratoga Springs Resort. For purposes of this example, 160 points would cover 11 nights of vacation in a Saratoga Springs Studio unit: a 6-night stay in Magic Season and a 5-night stay in Choice season. These roughly correspond with regular season for cash pricing of resort rooms.

  • Your dues for 160 Saratoga Springs Resort points are $1,083 in 2020, which pays in advance for points that straddle 2020 and 2021.
  • If you rented points from an owner to stay in a Saratoga Springs studio for the same dates at $19 a point, it would cost you $3,040.
  • Maybe youd be just as happy staying in the least expensive Disney Deluxe hotel room, and youre able to get a modest discount on the hotel room. If you stayed at Wilderness Lodge in Regular Season with a 25% discount, 11 nights would cost you $4,592 with tax in 2021.
  • If you paid the full rack rate charged by Disney to stay in a Saratoga Springs studio for 11 nights in Regular season, it would cost you $5,687 with tax in 2021.

All told, the $1,083 in dues compares pretty favorably to the much higher cost of $4,500+ to stay in a discounted cash room, or even the $3,000+ it would cost to rent the points from an owner.

Special Vip Events & Advanced Movie Screenings

The benefit we LOVE the most is the special events exclusive to DVC Members. We have been invited to several advanced screenings in Downtown Disney where we got to watch Disney movies prior to their release in the theaters. At these screenings, our kids received toys, popcorn, and sodas complimentary and they were able to meet some of the folks that worked on the show too.

And, the last two years we have been invited to special events where they close down the theme parks and open it up to DVC Members FREE of charge!!! And, they even had complimentary snacks like churros, popcorn, ice cream, sodas, and water available to members too!!

Disney Vacation Club Buying Guide

Disney Vacation Club Members Can Enjoy 30% Off Original ...

Our Disney Vacation Club Buying Guide covers best & worst home resorts, buying DVC via directly v. resale, how to use points, membership perks, plus the pros & cons of joining. Finally, we share our story of why we joined, and answer frequently asked questions.

Although we are DVC members, we weigh the benefits and drawbacks of joining. In other words, this isnt a sales pitch for Disney Vacation Club. The fact is, DVC is not right for everyone. So, rather than presenting the kind of emotional and rosy marketing message youll hear from a DVC guide trying to make a sale, well present a more balanced perspective here.

Lets start with a little background. Disney Vacation Club is Disneys twist on the traditional timeshare concept, and Disney advertises it as a way to save money on future vacations at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and beyond. There are currently 15 Disney Vacation Club resorts, with 1-2 more in development: a new Disneyland Hotel tower in California and Reflections A Disney Lakeside Lodge at Walt Disney World. The latter has almost certainly been quietly cancelled.

Its also worth noting that Disney Vacation Club is a pre-paid vacation plan, which differs slightly from the traditional definition of a timeshare. In the strictest sense, Disney Vacation Club can be viewed as an asset, but not a tangible one. This is an important distinction to some people, but it doesnt matter to a lot of people.

Is Dvc Ownership Right For You

Families who love vacationing at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disneys Aulani Resort will find that purchasing DVC points is practically a no-brainer! I mean savings of up to 50% that is hard to beat! Of course, this is a very personal question and what is right for one family isnt always right for every family. However, I have yet to find a fellow DVC Member who is not super thankful they made the purchase.

Take a look at what 100-124 points can get you.

What Is Disney Vacation Club

Disney Vacation Club is an ownership program, similar to a timeshare, that you invest in to take way more cost effective Disney vacations. DVC has resorts all over the world and of course- a large selection at Walt Disney World and one at Disneyland!

Disney Vacation Clubs are a little different than timeshares though since it uses a one point system for buying and renting. The more points you buy, the more you can use your Disney reservation. Owners also have the option of renting DVC points to non-DVC owners which is a great advantage for both parties. The more points you purchase, the more options you have for your vacation each year.

  • Renting Disney Vacation Club Points

    Everything you need to know!

Disney Vacation Club is a time share program offered by Disney where members sign a long-term contract and agree to purchase a certain number of points every year. Members then exchange those points to stay at a Disney Resort. Disney Vacation Club rules are very strict and unused points will expire. Often times when owners have points that they are unable to use they opt to rent them to vacationers. Renting points is a great way for vacationers to save some money while allowing owners a chance to recoup some of the investment when they aren’t able to enjoy the time share themselves.Disney does not rent points. You must rent from the property owners directly. And because of this renting can be a little risky. You will find ads to rent DVC points all over the internet and many of them originate from untrustworthy sources. Magic Family Travel does not rent DVC points, nor can we help you with your rental reservation, but we recommend that you use a reputable points broker such as David’s Vacation Club Rentals. David vets property owners and provides a safe rental process. Using a points broker costs a little more but will provide you with the peace-of-mind in knowing that you will not be taken advantage of.Disney Vacation Club Villas vary in size and are available at these locations:

During normal times, there are many different ways to tackle selecting lodging for a Disney World vacation, including Disneys value and moderate resort categories. Those looking for the ultimate in convenience might enjoy a deluxe resort on the monorail, such as The Contemporary Resort or Disneys Polynesian Village Resort. And families working on a budget might redeem their hotel points to stay at a non-Disney hotel or off-property hotel instead. There are plenty of suitable options around Disney World.

Yet, even with all those options, one of the most intriguing options remains renting points from a Disney Vacation Club member to book a true Walt Disney World property for less.

And while renting DVC points is always a good option to consider, it is an especially relevant option right now as the only new on-property hotel bookings Disney World is accepting at the moment are those booked with Disney Vacation Club points.
