The trolley also runs on Sunday, December 4.

If you want a summer vacation rental, their suggestions include:
* Make reservations now.
* Be flexible. Many of the prime summer weeks are taken. Those prime weeks run from late June to late August.
Carla Hemmings is the vacation rental director at Gibson Sotheby’s International Real Estate. She said there are some weeks that “linger” longer than others on the reservation list. One is the last week in August, because it runs into Labor Day when children start school.

Hemmings said she is seeing guests come in the fall and staying for three to five nights. “More people are coming for weekends for shorter durations,” she said.
* Expect to pay more for rentals. Prices increased for summer 2020 and they are continuing to rise for some properties. Decker said increases averaged 20% to 25% in 2020 and 2021. This year he is seeing 8% to 10% increases on rentals.
Blankenship said her owners have increased prices 10% on average.
Hemmings said there is one common denominator: “It’s not going to change,” she said. “People will come to the Cape.”
