What Has Disney Said

This week, Disney took the extraordinary step of reminding guests to use the online tool. First, the company acknowledged the problem, though.

Our goal is always to provide our Members with the highest quality customer experience, including during that essential planning and booking process.

Later, DVC delivered a full-throated apology:

Please know that we are working diligently to remedy this issue and recognize that we need to do better. We want to assure you that we are taking the necessary steps to help reduce call wait times, including hiring more Cast Members and investing in new phone systems that will enhance our customer service levels.

That last part should get your attention, as you know that America is nearing a tipping point in the pandemic.

The worst appears to be over knock on wood! and that knowledge alleviates Disneys financial woes. Theyre apparently ready to hire again.

Even so, the company sent this email in hopes of persuading members to avoid the DVC Hotline as much as possible.

Waitlisting A Disney Vacation Club Resort

Submitting a Waitlist Request

Waitlist requests are active up until 31 days or up until 7 days prior to your Check-In date based on your request. Once you’re within that 7-day window, the Waitlist is not available.

Helpful Hints About the Waitlist:

• During the Home Resort Priority period, you can only make a Waitlist request for your Home Resort.
• You can have up to 2 active Waitlist requests per Membership per Use Year.
• Waitlist requests for consecutive nights cannot be split into separate night-by-night requests.
• Your request will remain on the Waitlist for up to 31 days before your requested Check-In date. If you would like to keep your name on the Waitlist beyond that time, you can modify the Waitlist expiration date online in the My Dashboard section of the website.
• Once your request has been placed on the Waitlist, there is no need to contact Member Services to check on your Waitlist status.
• If a Waitlist request is confirmed and you cancel the accommodation 30 days or less prior to Check-In, then the Vacation Points used to book the accommodation will be placed in a Holding Account.
• All other Waitlist requests or previously confirmed reservations for comparable dates will be cancelled when a Waitlist request is confirmed.
• You can view, modify or cancel your request at any time in My Dashboard.
• As a courtesy to other Members, visit My Dashboard or contact Member Services to cancel your request if you no longer wish to be on the Waitlist.

Buying Direct Or Resale

Buying into Disney Vacation Club is purchasing a real-estate interest, and contracts are also available for purchase and resale on the secondary market, with resale purchases yielding substantial savings sometimes up to 50% off direct-from-Disney prices. However, buying a resale contract does come with limitations some of them potentially significant.

Only members who have purchased at least 150 points directly from Disney are eligible for all of the previously detailed perks. Additionally, members who purchase a resale contract at any resort other than Disneys Riviera Resort, Disney Vacation Clubs newest property, which opened in December of 2019, are not able to use their points to book at Riviera.

On the flip side, anyone who purchases a resale contract at Riviera can only use their vacation points to book stays at Riviera.

Your purchase consists of ‘vacation points’ and based on availability, those points may be used for reservations at any time of year in a selection of villas found at each DVC Resort or even at a selection of Resorts located around the world as well as Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney options. Saving Money By Staying In

Another way many DVC members squeeze extra savings out of their membership is by utilizing their in-villa kitchens.

One-bedroom and larger villas have full kitchens, so families often save by ordering groceries and replacing pricey meals out with meals in the room. Even studio villas have kitchenettes and small tables. We save a small fortune and valuable morning time, when lines in the parks are typically shorter by eating a quick breakfast in our villa before heading out for the day.

Can You Add The Disney Dining Plan If You Rent Davids Dvc Points

Yes, you most certainly can.

When staying as a guest of a DVC Owner at a Disney Vacation Club Resort in Walt Disney World, you can choose from any of the three free dining plans that Disney offers to its owners and guests. Of course, you will need theme park tickets if the restaurant you wish to dine at is inside a theme park.

If a dining plan is selected, it must be applied to all persons on the reservation for the total number of nights. There are no exceptions to this rule.

For this example, I am going to use 2/15/2019 through 2/18/2019 three nights. I will use Animal Kingdom as an example. *Note that this is a holiday weekend Monday is Presidents Day.

Will I Get Discount Disney Tickets

Not as a result of reserving to the say on-site at a Disney Resort. Discounts are exclusive to Disney Vacation Owners, and its usually for annual passes. If you are going to stay at a Disney World Resort, you will have to buy tickets or annual passes. There are some discounts like AAA and the Military. The discount we used typically comes out in January. In 2017, this is what we paid:

Disney Tickets Florida Residents: 3-Day Ticket:

• $189.00 plus tax = $63 per day
• $176.00 plus tax = $58.66 per day

Above all, the best thing to do for tickets is to check the specials on Disneys website.

Disney World To Reduce Theme Park Hours Starting This September

All four Disney World theme parks will have reduced hours starting Sept. 8.

Starting Sept. 8, Disney World will be reducing the hours of Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disneys Hollywood Studios, and Disneys Animal Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios will be closing an hour earlier, at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively Epcot will be closing at 7 p.m. instead of 9 p.m., and Animal Kingdom will shave an hour off in the morning and in the evening.

The news was shared on the theme parks My Disney Experience Disney World app and website this weekend.

Starting Sept. 8, Disney World’s hours of operation at each theme park are:

Magic Kingdom: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Epcot: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Disneys Hollywood Studios: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is the latest operational update from the Florida theme park resort since it reopened in July after closing in March amid the coronavirus pandemic. Upon reopening, Disney World implemented a number of new health and safety protocols across its theme parks, hotels, and the Disney Springs shopping and dining district. These new measures include required face coverings for guests and cast members, physical distancing guidelines, increased cleaning and sanitization, reduced capacity at the theme parks, and more.

Predicting Future Walt Disney World Operating Hours

If your visiting time is after the period the calendars show, heres a couple of thoughts:Epcot hours dont change much over the course of the year. Its Future World section typically is open from 9a to 9p, and its World Showcase section from 11a to 9p.

During the Christmas season Epcot typically closes at 9.30p rather than 9. During the slow season, Disney has experimented with closing it at 8 and 8.30p, especially on evening Extra Magic Hours days.

It may have a scheduled opening earlier, or stay open later, on a few crazy holiday daysthe Fourth of July, Christmas Week, New Years Eve.

Animal Kingdom hours follow sunset times and crowd levels. During the slower part of the winter season, when sunsets are early, it often closes at 5p. Busier periods, and ones when sunset is later, will have the park open until as late as 8p.

The park commonly opens at 8a during many days of Christmas and New years weeks, and during other crazy times.

Disneys Hollywood Studios usually opens at 9, and is almost always open until at least 7p, and as late as 10p or later during busier times. Even later hours are often posted on New Years Eve and the Fourth of July. Scheduled 8a openings are rare.

The Magic Kingdom has the most varied and unpredictable operating hours. It is almost always open until at least 7p, and usually opens at 9a. Rare 6p closings are usually related to a special event in the park that night.
