Generating Your Digital Dvc Card
Now that youve done the prep work, lets generate your MagicMobile Pass! On the My Disney Experience app , click the icon with the three stacked lines in the bottom, right-hand corner. Click on the Disney MagicMobile button and scroll down to click on the Set Up Your Pass button.
On this screen, you will choose the accounts that you wish to generate a pass for. Your account will already be checked, but you can add any of the Disney accounts you manage by checking the box next to the name.
An optional step is to change the pass style. That is the background image on your digital card. Click the Change Pass Style button and choose from about 40 images sorted by categories like Annual Passholder, Ear Hats, 50th Anniversary Celebration, Happy Holidays, Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disneys Hollywood Studios, Disneys Animal Kingdom Park and Food Favorites. You can also change this image later, if you want.
Once you have selected the account you want to generate a pass for and youve picked your style , click the Add to Wallet button to generate your card. Click the Add button and then the Done button.
Things To Check Before You Begin
First, lets confirm that your membership is linked to your Disney account. Open the My Disney Experience app and log in, if you arent already.
The next step is to confirm that your phone number is correct and verified. Click the icon with the three stacked lines in the bottom, right-hand corner. Scroll down to click on My Profile and click on Account Settings to check if your phone number is verified. If its not, follow the verification steps. Wait a few minutes before continuing on to generate your card.

Dvc Exchange Into Rci
DVC Exchange into RCI: RCI is one of the largest brokers of timeshare trades. RCI operates two main exchange programs RCI Weeks and RCI Points.
Disney Vacation Club has a multi-year affiliation agreement with RCI that offers its members access to thousands of RCI affiliated timeshare properties across the globe while RCIs approximately 3.7+ million subscribing members gain access to the 13 Disney Vacation Club resorts. DVC heavily markets this option in their sales pitch to prospective members.
Unlike other timeshares, DVC members arent members of RCI. Instead, DVCMC has a corporate membership that DVC members can leverage.
As such, the standard RCI rules do not apply. When trying to determine what the specific policy or rule is on something, dont go by what RCI says on its web site, but what DVC states.
Due to its nature as a trade facilitator, RCI has to assign a trading power to individual resorts. Basically its done to attempt to limit those who own undesirable locations from trading into high-demand destinations.
If one is going to use DVC points for exchanging via RCI, they should take the time to learn the ins and outs of exchanging and should plan ahead at least a year .
Of course, RCI exchanges go both ways, as other timeshare owners can use RCI to trade into DVC. Owners of other RCI resorts only gain access to DVC rooms when DVC owners first opt to trade out to an RCI destination. They do not have unlimited access to all available DVC rooms.

New traffic control measures may impact those hoping to secure early morning reservations on the Disney Vacation Club member website.
Within the last several days, the DVC members-only website has added a queuing system to control the volume of traffic. When the virtual queue is in place, visitors will not be able to immediately log in. Instead, they will be presented with the following message:

This queuing process could present issues for members looking to make reservations early in the morning when the 11 or 7 month booking windows come into play. Reservations open daily at 8:00am eastern, with some resorts and room types filling within minutes, in accordance with high member demand. Owners who are stuck in the virtual queue will be unable to complete the login process and being to check villa availability. Several recent late-morning login attempts saw our access delayed by approximately 60 seconds.
The change comes as 11-month reservations are being accepted for popular dates in the fall of 2022, with Thanksgiving and Christmas periods rapidly approaching.

Disney expedites the deed recording process and you can usually get a reservation as soon as you sign the paperwork, even before the deed is officially recorded with the state.

Buying Direct Or Resale
Buying into Disney Vacation Club is purchasing a real-estate interest, and contracts are also available for purchase and resale on the secondary market, with resale purchases yielding substantial savings sometimes up to 50% off direct-from-Disney prices. However, buying a resale contract does come with limitations some of them potentially significant.
Only members who have purchased at least 150 points directly from Disney are eligible for all of the previously detailed perks. Additionally, members who purchase a resale contract at any resort other than Disneys Riviera Resort, Disney Vacation Clubs newest property, which opened in December of 2019, are not able to use their points to book at Riviera.
On the flip side, anyone who purchases a resale contract at Riviera can only use their vacation points to book stays at Riviera.
Other Expenses And Benefits
Remember that the cost of accommodations is actually a small fraction of the overall cost of a vacation. Walt Disney World annual passes for a family of four cost over $5500 in 2021. Meals for a 10-day vacation can easily run $1800 or more for a family. Then you have to account for airfare , souvenirs, bottled water, extra ticketed events such as Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party, and so on.
DVC members do qualify for some discounts that may help with these additional vacation expenses . They are eligible for the Sorcerer Pass at Walt Disney World, which doesnt cover Christmas and Thanksgiving, but costs around $400 less per person, and they get get some restaurant and merchandise discounts . Also, the villas have full kitchens, which could help a bit with the costs, since some meals can be made in the unit.
DVC members and their guests may choose to purchase a Dining Plan when staying on points at a Walt Disney World DVC resort. The Dining Plans are available to the general public only as part of a vacation package, so this is a nice benefit for those DVC members who like the Disney Dining Plans.
Another DVC benefit: you dont pay extra when more than 2 adults are staying in one DVC unit. This is true whether you use your own points, rent points or pay cash. By contrast, the Disney resort hotels charge extra if you have more than 2 adults in a room. Depending on the ages of the people in your group, this may save you a bit.

Best Candidates For Dvc Membership
DVC membership might make sense if you meet most or all of these criteria:
- You have the cash in hand to pay all of the upfront costs of membership without borrowing.
- The cost of dues does not appear to present a financial hardship based on your current expectations.
- You vacation at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and/or Disneys beach resorts frequently: ideally at least once every two years.
- You plan to continue staying at DVC resorts far enough into the future to make the membership at least break even.
- You prefer to stay in Deluxe or DVC accommodations and/or you stay a long time .
- You are able to plan your vacations well in advance ideally 7 to 11 months out.
How Much Does A Disney Vacation Club Membership Cost
One of the reasons that many people dont consider a Disney Vacation Club membership is because they assume that it will be too expensive. However, it is more affordable than they might think.
Like any real estate, specific properties are more valuable than others therefore, the points at one sometimes cost more than at another. For example, the Grand Floridian is Disneys flagship in Florida, so when they built villas and sold membership, it cost more than at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Not only does it carry real and symbolic luxury, but the Grand Floridian is also in a better location.
When you buy into Disney Vacation Club, the actual value item youre purchasing is the vacation points themselves. You will pay a specific dollar amount for every point you buy. Currently, points start at just over $200 each. Since you have to buy at least 150 points to get in, your initial investment will be over $30,000.
Different factors can drive this price up. We already mentioned which resort you buy, and if you buy more than 150 points, youll pay more. There are other fees attached as well. Since this is a real estate transaction, you must pay closing costs, which Disney states start at $628. Disney offers a financing program for up to 10 years, and these costs roll into a single payment that includes monthly membership dues.

Choosing A Home Resort
The price per point varies across Disney Vacation Club resorts, and even though points can be used at any property, its important to give serious consideration up front to your home resort choice. DVC members can use their points to book stays at their home resort 11 months in advance and at any other DVC resort seven months in advance.
Popular weeks and room types do fill up at the 11-month window. So, if you have your heart set on, for example, a week at the Polynesian between Christmas and New Years every year, its unlikely youll be able to get the dates you want at the seven-month mark if you purchased at a different home resort.
If youre more flexible with your dates and where you stay, you can save a lot by purchasing at a lower price-per-point resort, booking your home resort as a backup at the 11-month mark, then trying your luck inside the seven-month window if youd like to stay elsewhere. We bought our primary contract at Disneys BoardWalk Villas, our favorite resort, to ensure we always have a room there during peak demand times when our kids are out of school.
We later bought a second, smaller contract at a lower price per point at Disneys Saratoga Springs Resort, and have used those points to stay in every single other Disney Vacation Club resort at Walt Disney World.

How Long Are Disney Vacation Club Contracts
It depends. Disney has adjusted the length of membership over time in response to the programs popularity and individual members feedback. The first group of DVC memberships has technically expired, but Disney provided an option to extend them.
You will know how long your contract is for when you sign up. Many contracts also have provided terms for extending the membership once the contract has been satisfied.
If you choose to finance your membership instead of paying it upfront, you may finance for up to ten years. Some new members opt for shorter terms and thereby end up paying much less interest over time.
If the owner or owners of the membership pass away, their heir will inherit their membership. A Disney Vacation Club membership can be willed to anyone and split up between multiple heirs, though they will likely have to share a single membership unless they make other arrangements on their own. If you have inherited a DVC membership, Disney can help you transition it into your name and get you situated with your new association.
You should also note that you can purchase a DVC membership from someone else besides Disney themselves. For a variety of reasons, current members sometimes opt to sell their memberships. Buying a membership this way has some benefits. For one thing, since the memberships arent whole , theyre less expensive. You may also be able to buy into sold-out resorts.
